2016 Topic 8: Happy White Space

2016 Topic 8: Happy White Space
Inspired by Megan Wells which is featured on the challenge post near the bottom.
I wasn't sure what was meant by ‘white space’ but after reading the post the penny dropped! Ironically on the Sunday morning I had been to a craft shop opening, Leonie Pujol was demonstrating and we spoke about her 1st product launch based around white space. I watched her on tv the next day and thought I must get this product and use it for the challenge ( I know us crafters have to find an excuse to buy new goodies, lol).
The same techniques were used for both projects.
Firstly I placed the stencil onto the card. I used repositional glue on the mask so that it wouldn't move and easy to lift off once I had finished without damaging the card.
I blended ink on one and paint on the other.
Keeping the stencil in place simply stamp around it and even on the mask, letting the stamp ‘fall off’ so getting only part of the stamp.
Once I was happy with the pattern building I removed the mask.
This is when it all comes together and the wow factor of the white space.
I used 3D glue and sparkle pens to fill in the stamped images, this is so relaxing.
I rounded the corners of the card, edged with a black ink pad.
Actually made a card with the purple happy. The orange happy is going on my wall.

2016 Topic 7: Resists BLOOM

Inspired by Paula Pascal Link

For You Card
Stamped with Versamark onto watercolour paper, then applied clear embossing powder so making a resist to the colour powders.
Sprinkled powders onto glass mat, sprayed them with water then dipped card into it.
Distressed/roughened the edges of the card with distress tool then applied ink to frame the stamped images.

Bloom Card
Same techniques as above , only difference is I used WOW embossing powder and didn't distress  the edges of the card.

Both images mounted to a background mat and layer with the same resist technique. Then glued to the front of a Kraft card.

Materials used;
Paperartsy JOFY Stamp Set 37 and 38, ELB 22
WOW embossing powder
Versamark
Distress Ink
Polished pigments
